With reference to your letter of the 13th instant, I have the honour to inform Your Excellency that there is no vacancy upon the existing Sanitary Board to which I have authority to appoint.

I have no doubt that the Secretary of the Board will be glad to give any information in his power to the Principal Medical Officer, and any suggestions coming from him will be carefully considered by the Sanitary Board.
